May 7, 2011 Puget Sound Fast Electric Model Boat Club race. This is Darin Jordan Driving the prototype for the ProBoat Impulse 31 Mono, updated with a Losi Xcelorin 1/8th Scale buggy motor in 2400KV, powered by Thunder Power 45C 3800mAh 4S packs wired in parallel (4S2P, 7600mAh total) and a Castle Creations Hydra 240 ESC. Prop is an X440/3.

@scd4590 That boat isn't running the stock Proboat motor/esc combo. Its ESC alone is worth a fair amount more than the price you paid for the whole boat.

Turning an X440/3 prop with a 2400kv motor running at 14.4 volts must pull a LOT of amps, hence the need for the high current speed control.
Keep in mind, this is a setup for a 4 lap race, not for 10 minute sport runs.
