Wow - Compare how Boutros-Ghali responded to Ali G. with how Andy Rooney responded. If you knew anything about international politics, you would realize that in the UN, decisions are made by the UN Security Council, which are a select group of nations. Boutros-Boutros Ghali, Kofi Annan, and other UN Secretary-Generals are mainly ceremonial in nature. Pick up a book, idiot, and stop trying to make it seem like the UN Security General has any power.

they were completely powerless in that issue. the weapon transaction was a massive corruption case and it was too powerful for a man like him to stop that. the UN is just a corporation where people meet. it isnt a powerful organisation that can stop such things.
