Carol King and her husband wrote this for their housekeeper Little Eva becuase of the way she danced and sang while doing her work around the house. They allowed her to record it and bam! a Hit!

@dragonrulr4 Well, I do know it was a #1 song on Billboard Magazine's HOT 100 charts back in 1962. And it would be remade by the band Grand Funk Railroad in 1973 and go right back up to #1 on the charts that later year.
