@TMonsterthefat1 oh ok.. I always thought it was about John, because it is a very sad song, john drives the car in the music video, meh. I didn't read anthony's bio, so you may be right :] (sorry for the bad english)
-
@neoconker2 nope, the first line says it all of scar tissue, if you read anthony's bio, u can see it was his days of One Hot Minute and Dave Navarro. he really struggled hard. (not because of Dave Navarro)

like this song, haven't heard it since around 2001 or so, it feels great getting to hear this song on the radio again, had no idea it was done by Red Hot Chili Peppers, definitely them at their prime
The Peppers rocking out well in a mellow flowing song bridging the energy filled yet at times unguided early eighties sound to the fuck punk soul rock blend they would make their own. Shame they never made a film clip for it. This was just shacked together by EMI using stuff they'd recorded for other songs. I think that true Chili fans don't get caught up on the fact that BSSM might be the pinacle and just love the shit out of all this band produces. They provide the soundtrack to life.

@lirit18 The Book is really good, it says that after Hillel's death Anthony went to visit the grave and spend the whole day crying and when he got home he wrote "Knock me down" in Hillel's memory. Also many of the Peppers' best songs are about band members and friends of the band.
"Jungle Man" is about Flea.
"Skinny Sweaty man" is about Hillel
"I could have lied" is about Sinead O'Connor.
"Tear Jerker" is about Kurt Cobain.
"Scar tissue" is about Dave Navarro.
