Such a sad, heartwrenching song...but so amazing...and performed by the greatest artist in the world.
-
Masterful songwriting about a cold, dead end road - love the internal rhyming and, of course, the performance.

I love Patty!

@davestul Sorry, but this song is NOT on "Children Running Through," at least not on the version I have.
Patty's DVD is the first place I've found it.
You might like Emmylou Harris' version on "All I Intended to Be." It's special.
Thanks again to Paddy Moloney of the Chieftains for introducing some of us to Patty on one of the Chieftains' "Plank Road" albums.

Does anyone know where I can find the studio version? It's not on iTunes anymore :/

What album is this from!?

I kinda knew of Patty, but never really looked into her music. Caught her on Austin City Limits show on PBS last night and OMG! Why didn't I know of her sooner? Am now getting all her stuff. AMAZING!! :D

yeah, great is'nt it...
Open D Tuning: DADGBD Capo: 5
It may be easier to use std. tuning with e.g. capo 4 and a C chord.
