American Lake, Pierce County

American lake is firmly established as one of the greater Tacoma area's primary fishing lakes. The video was shot on a cool day with moderating winds. Fished with Bruce Middleton. Tough day for bass but a nice day on the water. Mike

This lake is 1125 acres, 8 miles SW of Tacoma. Take the Camp Murray-Madigan exit from Hwy 5 to one mile to lake. The lake holds rainbow, cutthroat, kokanee, perch, largemouth and rock bass, and bullhead. There are several boat launches on the lake, as well as a resort on the lake's east shore.

he/she doesn't show the whole north end. there's a seaplane base and a big 3 lane boat ramp. right next to it is a large public swimming area.
