@calmatosport I'm not sure it even matters. Whatever works for you as long as it is a knife edge. I learned maintain angle of attack with rudder and maintain altitude with throttle.

@Kpilot786457 Don't know what plane you fly but my Yak will just make a KE loop if I give it full rudder.

@calmatosport yes, but any good pilot knows that you are supposed to sustain the knife edge with throttle.
im not saying ur not a good pilot i am just saying most people that fly 3d with big planes agree with that.

@Kpilot786457 Judging from your reaction I can tell you havn't got a lot of experience flying big and/or well balanced planes. At the time I made this video I wasn't that experienced either, but now I fly a big Yak at freestyle competitions, I even won one.
The definition of knife edge is: the plane in a 90degree bank where the fuselage provides all lift. This can be at full throtlle and a bit rudder or full rudder and a bit power. Excpecially indoor planes will just KE loop with full rudder.

It's funny, I can fly like a pro on a simulator but when I bust out the 57" everything changes,

@GeneticallySuperior1 Thats right. Actually I can do all the simulator stuff in real too, except the crashing part that only happens once.
It's all about the risk you are willing to take. And simulators usualy give ideal situations, in real life we have turbulence and winds.
