Here's how to set up Firefox 7 to get back the classic browser UI which places the Menu bar on top, tabs below the location bar and the Home button on the left. I also cover how to remove the search bar and how to restore the original functionality of the status bar.

For a complete written description of this video tutorial, visit this page at my website:

NOTE: This video was created originally for Firefox 6.0 but all the configurations described in it are perfectly compatible with the latest version of Firefox, which as of this writing is Firefox 7.0.1.

Thanks for watching and if you enjoyed this video, please give it a thumbs up!

  • In FF7,...If you put the stop button before the reload...they stay apart.

If you put the reload in front..they meld into one.

Another option is to put one or the other in front of the Nav window and one behind.

This works too. Thanks for sharing! :)

  • If you put a separator between the refresh and stop button, they stay separate... just and idea.

I don't usually comment on vids but now I just had to, haha

  • Thank you....you just made my day!! You break it down, explain what it is, what it does, and how to fix it....you'd make an awesome teacher. Even this old granny can do it. :)

  • You are awesome!! very usefull!!

  • I like the search bar because you can plug in all sorts of other sites for quick reference. I don't use the Google one since it's my home page, but my pulldown menu's got Wikipedia, IMDB, Dictionary, Thesaurus, Amazon, etc. that I can quickly refer to. It's not really clutter since it's on the same bar as the regular URL navigator bar, and it cuts out the extra step of navigating to the site, going to the site's search bar, and plugging in a search.

  • If I wanted google chrome, I would've downloaded and installed google chrome. I don't understand why they thought they should just look like them.
