Petula Clark - This Is My Song 2001
Released 1967, 2 weeks at #1 - 14 weeks on charts in UK

Why is my heart so light
Why are the stars so bright
Why is the sky so blue
Since the hour I met you

Flowers are smiling bright
Smiling for our delight
Smiling so tenderly
For the world, you and me

I know why the world is smiling
Smiling so tenderly
It hears the same old story
Through all eternity

Love, this is my song
Here is a song, a serenade to you
The world cannot be wrong
If in this world there is you

I care not what the world may say
Without your love there is no day
So, love, this is my song
Here is a song, a serenade to you

(Instrumental)

I care not what the world may say
Without your love there is no day
So, love, this is my song
Here is a song, a serenade to you

  • You are mean, royko22. She is over 70 now. Of course her voice deteriorates, but I am really glad she is still singning. She has accomplished a lot. I don't care what she looks like now. She will always have my respect and admiration. BTW, her French manager was her husband who done a fabulous job managing her to an incredible career..

  • she was fantastic and will remain that way forever. bravo pet LOVE YOU VERY MUCH, YOU ARE THE BEST. LIZ

  • What I wouldn't give to meet her before I die.

  • Everyone should be so lucky to have a girlfriend as beautiful as mine! She is 63 and I couldn't have anyone more beautiful!! I am 52 and couldn't be happier!

I won't judge you royko22. But I agree with bjou520. Accept people as they are!!! CIAO!!!!

  • This song created by the ultimate master Charlie Chaplin, will always like his movies linger on in our hearts...

  • Essa belíssima música foi tema do filme " A condessa de Hong Kong e foi composta pelo incomparável CHARLIE CHAPLIN .

  • This is my favourite song ever and i am having it played at my funeral.

  • Not her voice but, our world has deteriorated because her hair, (a fashion?) is ghastly. Women don't know what is good and hairdressers exploit that to make them look like S...T. BUT the Incredible Miss Pet Clark is 69 here and her voice sounds as Sweet and wonderful as ever. Age happens but her spirit shines through her face and voice. I never saw this and thank you because Petula Clark IS Music and for the joy she has brought me I am grateful and honour her.

  • @bjou520

in our period ,we have common culture.

good song are knowen by all people in the world.

once i visit london.and taxi driver from korea island.have the disk of beatles and petula klark.

he told me that this is the songs he love.

we begin to have common culture.

    i like it

  • I almost went to see her in San Diego two years ago. 1967 is the year I started learning English in Taiwan. A friend brought me her recording. Somehow I have never forgotten her. So strange! A woman from another world, another culture is part of my life.

  • By the way Charlie Chaplin wrote this song ,no one can sing it like Petula.

  • i could hear this song every day, so beautiful, not just the singing, the words, the actual music, and so on. makes me both happy and melancholy at the same time. great song to sing to!
