    Ok, so now I get the "witching" part. I never use the tools by orienting and or asking them questions. Some how I feel that IS going to far (call me superstitious). I just like walking around and finding stuff under my feet. My brain tells me (at this time) that if they cross it's an item and if they point outward it's a living thing like water or electricity. I am getting into metal detecting with a new detector in the next few weeks and plan on doing some experimenting with this.
