Love Diabetes: When a Child (with diabetes) Can't Remember

In the fall of 1985, a very scary thing happened shortly after I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. One morning I woke up and I couldn't remember things I would normally remember. I couldn't remember the name of my neighbor's dog. I had a fanatical love for Cookie. Of course I would remember Cookie! This is because analogues force your insulin receptors to start 'denying entry' to a substance it does not recotgnise as KOSHER. The amino acid sequence in Protophan was similar to natural human insulin polypeptides. The amino acid sequence in Levemir, Lantus, NovoLog, Apidra, and Humalog are not identifiable to the receptors. Interesting you mentioned insulin resistance, when i changed to Levmir from Protophen i had to increase my night time dose by 20 units ie Protophane when i was using it was 40 units now with Levimir 60 units, and at times is still not enough.
