What's dodgy? You better tell me who to listen to and how to get better or the wrath of bad guitar karma will come down on you.
The rule is if you say negative things you must share positive solutions or the badness in the statement comes back to haunt us in our own playing.

im just getting into bebop guitar and learning all the modes and things, this is my dream jazz/bebop guitar

Oh, and the figured maple wood, of course. The 125s are mahogany back and sides, I believe. I have a 125 TCD, and it's a great guitar with great tone, but not as fancy and frilly as the higher-end models.

17" vs. 16" wide body, 125T is also a thinline, or thin body depth guitar, 300 has block inlays, binding on the neck and the headstock inlay, too.

i have the epiphone version of this guitar, it sounds and plays amazing! i had a gibson es-300 but i threw it away because the epiphone is so fucking rad.

@snotmale thx

@MetallicRoses1 Yes if it is a full body archtop with sound holes. Not so the thinline (335 type) models. I have a Hofner 457 model and has a glorious unplugged tone in addtion to its screaming plugged in persona!

What is the real difference between a ES-300 and an ES-125T???

This guitar doesnt deserve a Roland cube, it deserves at least to be played through a blues junior or any low watt fender amp
What a beautiful guitar, I love the smooth tone. Do you think it is a 1945 or 46’ maybe as it has the bound tortoiseshell guard and the plate tailpiece?

I have to admit that a dreadnought or standard acoustic guitar is louder than your typical acoustic archtop or F-holed jazz guitar. There's some beautiful old USA acoustic Epiphone Emperors but their still not that loud.

That guitar reminds me of my 1954 Epiphone Zepher. They even have alot in common tonally. I've never bothered to look and see if the top was plywood or not. Don't care. Nice old guitar. Had it for over 35yrs. I play it through an early 60's Checkmate amp. Missing the pickguard though. Been looking for one all these years but still haven't seen another Zephyer much less a pickguard.

I had an old Zepher with two pickups. I just loved the look of that thing. I traded it for an L-12 acoustic cutaway with a DeArmond pickup. That became the guitar I crossed over from bass to jazz guitar. Back then, in the early 70s, you could swing deals but now, thanks to a bunch of non-musical rich guys who collect guitars, it's hard for musicians to afford such great instruments for making music. Thanks
