  • Where did you get a left-handed sitar? I am a left-handed classical guitarist and I thought it would be impossible to find a sitar for myself.

  • That one is one that Sanjay Sharma made for me. He is from the Rikhi Ram family of makers in Delhi. It's a beautiful instrument. I have another one from Calcutta, but both were custom made. I've not seen any LH sitars lying around shops. Cheers

  • very good

    who did you learn from?

  • Thanks. I've been studying in Ahmedabad for four months. My guru is Smt Manju Mehta, a disciple of Ravi Shankar. Before that I learned from Alan Posselt in Australia.

  • Nicely played. It is not easy to change over to 7 beat to 16 beat Tal. Thank U.

  • Really nice! Your meend is quite good!

I love the Rikhi Ram Sitars, they have a great sound, are lightweight and stay well in tune because of the small size.

    Keep up the good work!

    Greetings, Raymond

  • its absolutely brilliant.. i am from a'bad.. am now in us... and missed this year of saptak... man seeing this video brings fond memories.. and a sense of what i missed....

  • absolutely enchanting!!!!!!!!

  • I disagree. I've never heard bols or jhalla like that on a guitar. Plus, his meends are very well executed and beautifully in tune, something quite divorced from guitar style playing. Keep it up Josh!

  • rather amateurish to me, strums the instrument like a guitar.

  • Wow man that was absolutely incredible! Very inspiring.

  • Ah josh, great as always,

Hope your having a good one, let us know when you get back here, much to catch up on.
