@vereda61 Yours is an appeal to chronological snobbery. People have a right to verbally express their disgust. If it were a Muslim exercising his/her right to declare that gays must be killed, what would you say? Which protected class wins? Which is more protected, that person's practice of Islam (moral) or the gay person's right to be shielded from the harm that public words of disgust manifest (modernity)?
