A few clips from the first part of this excellent documentary. I just wanted to show the effective use of the theme song.

  • i think it would be great if they did a follow up doc to this film and talk to the same people and find out how things may have or may have not changed for them or for the movies.

  • @outofnames0 I agree

  • If God had wanted everyone the same, He would have made us the same, as my Dad taught me. We`are not hardly a minority either. Twenty percent of the worlds population is gay, that was proven by Masters & Johnson's polls taken in the late Forties. That is SIXTY MILLION voters and tax payers in the USA alone today. So called haters are merely shooting themselves in the foot! This film in it's entirety should be required viewing in all high schools.

  • I have to agree the score throughout this wonderful fil is so powerful I enjoy listen to it often. Very powerful words spoken by Lilly Tomlin as well.....

  • @musicalidea that is an excellent statement. mind if i borrow it?

  • Hollywood, that great maker of myths, taught the wealthy what to think about the working class and the working class what to think about itself.

  • @patrickbad

    Patrickbad...more like PATRICKSAD!

  • @patrickbad You sad unhappy freak.

I see you still felt the need to not only find & watch this clip but take the time to to spew out your bile.

You need to sort out your own issues, though it will take a lot of time!

    Get well soon.

  • @missmabel Yes, and I'd so much like to see if they showed other countries's films too. In my opinion, a lot is the same (as for germany, for example), but a lot is not. I 'd find that very interesting.

  • Beautiful opening to a fascinating film. Gore Vidal's explanation of Ben-Hur is one of the highlights of documentary filmdom!

  • as a gay man, i'll be the first to admit that 2:08 is an unforgettable image...(hooting, cat calling)

  • @Dosdo hehehe well... most Film Historians are pompus! :)
