  • I was told not to put your fist straight and make your thumb face down. am I wrong??

  • You always need a straight fist in order to maintain the structural integrity of your arm and prevent a fracture of the 4th and 5th metacarpals, otherwise known as a "boxing fracture."

I'm not sure what you mean by thumb down, and "for the jab." I'm not sure what you mean. Please elaborate. Thanks,

    Joe Brignoli

  • Awesome... I just knocked my Dad out. Good Production and Information Value!!!

  • Great!

If you are an 11 year old kid, Good job!

If you are 40 and your dad is in a nursing home, you should be ashamed of yourself!

Either way, I'm glad you liked it.

  • @tmxlantm Here's what you should do - You clench your fist sideways, and flex as hard as you can. You arch your back only just a little bit, and then throw with all your muscle (On your fighting arm) and make sure you hit the jaw. A garunteed end. He's either knocked out, broken jaw, holding it while giving up, or is almost down, that's when you throw another one the same way with the other hand.

Message me back if you think this is great. You're welcom! by the way! :)

  • When throwing a hook off the leading hand, surely you need to bring the shoulder back a little first? In this video, the hook is thrown off the leading hand, straight from the ready position. This would only connect if the head of your opponent was already right next to your lead hand - which it wouldn't be, unless you were practically nose-to-nose. I can see that it works after the 1,2 punch, but that's because you already would have your left arm cocked because of the right straight.

  • great tutition awesome in fact keep up the great work

  • @theguyi26 Try moving in close behind your jab or after you throw a straight right. It is difficult to manage striking range and takes practice. The hook needs to be thrown quickly, if you drill it and drill it against a bag it will eventually become almost a reflex action. Work slow at first focusing on techinque and the speed will come and then it's much less difficult to time.

  • Looks great, so few people understand how the hook is supposed to be throw. The wild, looping punches you see in street fights have almost no power and are easy to deal with while a proper hook is a thing of beauty. Nice video!

  • I still can't throw the hook -- I feel like the opponent is always out of range. The hook usually follows the long-range right cross, so how can I the hook even reach the opponent if my arm is curved 90 degrees and I'm shifting my weight back? It seems impossible

  • @ProStarMMA When you throw a hook should my palm be facing towards the ground or facing inwards to my chest. That is what he means and I'm not so sure either - thanks!?

  • @poorchristopher15 stick your index and middle fingers into their eyes and claw away

  • This hook looks too clean. Like its martial arts specific. It doesn't look as devastating as the hooks I have seen street fighters throw. Good video though, gives me an idea.

  • man this video has helped me perfect my hooks ... thank you so much for sharing :)
