Let me sum it up for this reviewer, YOU play as DoomGuy, the NPCs are not DoomGuy, so that's why your so much stronger. And also even if the enemies are easy to kill, they are from hell and are creepy looking so that's also the reason marines are having a hard time, because they are really scared.

But HL2 is a much greater game, better story and characters and much more creative levels, enemies, weapons etc..

But Doom 3 is a great game too imo

I would rank HL2 quite a bit above D3. I haven't played D3 since I have completed it, while have beat HL2 three or four times and replay my favorite chapters at various times.

I would rate HL2 and D3 about equally. HL2's plot and characters are better of course, but D3 had some seriously memorable encouters and locations with the survival horror element to boot.

Everything in Doom3 looks so distorted. I like the look of Half-life 2 much more.

These graphics in 2004... awesome... ID Software are legends, without them we wont have FPS or 3D games at all...

@brizzlestick read my first comment for the ducktape mod. To set native resolution go to programfiles/doom3/base/doom3C­onfig follow instructions below. Find these lines: seta r_customHeight "xxx" seta r_customWidth "xxxx" Change the x's to set your resolution. Now find this line: seta r_mode "x" Change the "x" to "-1". Find this line: seta r_aspectRatio "x" If your screen aspect ratio is 16:9, change the "x" to "1". If your screen aspect ratio is 16:10 or 15:9, change the "x" to "2". Save file
