The next few episodes are pretty tense. And I'm hoping to end the series in 15 episodes...? But don't fret, there's more of Chasing Pavements after that ;) Not really a sequel, but a better way to end the story.

Selena's POV

It had spent the last two days trying to win the challenge between Nick and I. So far, so great. I hadn't thought of or craved of pickles or malt chocolate balls at all. Until now.
I finally cracked when Joe burst out saying 'Tickle my pickle' and started cracking up. He had heard it in a TV show, and couldn't stop talking about it. I know the pickle he's talking about aren't the pickles I'm talking about, but I just couldn't handle it.
--
Selena lay in her bed, the covers draped over her. She stared up at the ceiling, grimacing. It was like the urgency of having to pee. She had to eat pickles somehow.
"I can't do it," She whined, quietly.
"Do what?" Demi mumbled, half asleep.
"I can't beat Nick. Every time I close my eyes, I see dill pickles, Gherkin pickles, pickle chips," She started, hyperventilating. "It's like freaking Pickle Depot!"
"You're going crazy," Demi muttered. "Go to sleep."
Selena groaned, getting up without a sound. She peeked into Nick's room and saw Nick and Miley both fast asleep.
She smiled, running, quietly, downstairs. She opened the closet, grabbing her coat and slipping her boots on. She opened the door, releasing the warm air outside to the blazing cold. She stepped into the snow, making her way next door to the first cabin.
She took the keys that everyone was supplied with, and opened the door. She slammed the door shut, cheering loudly as she could. She knew no one was awake and in the cabin, so she danced her way into the kitchen. She smiled, and as she spotted the refrigerator, making her way slowly towards it.
"Hallelujah," she whispered, opening the door to see a jar of pickles. "I've been waiting for you." She smiled, picking up the jar and opening it. She inhaled the smell and pulled one out, indulging herself in it's glory. She bit into the pickle.
"Enjoying yourself?" said a voice from not too far away.
She dropped the glass jar, startled, and gasped. She turned around to see Nick sitting at the center island counter. He chuckled, a Diet Coke in his right hand.
She gasped. "You cheated!"
"Well so did you," he said, pointing to the pickles, now on the floor scattered with glass everywhere. He hopped down from the chair, "Let me help you clean up."
He bit his lip, searching for a broom.
"So.. technically I won, right?" She whispered, smiling.
He turned around, with a crooked smile plastered onto his face, rolling his eyes.

Nick's POV
"I'm telling you, this is going to taste amazing." I whispered, mixing the cake mixture into the pot.
She leaned in, resting her chin on my shoulder. She looked into the pot, wrinkling her nose as I threw in a ton of flour. She wiped the flour that puffed up in her face. "I didn't know you were a cook. You kind of were horrible during Home Ec last year.."
I smirked. "It was just school things like making cookies. Who cares how they turned out?"
"Can I help?" She asked, grinning. When I stared at her, unsure, she pouted and I sighed.
"Get me the eggs?" I sighed.
She cheered, running to the refrigerator. She pulled the carton out, and turned around and accidentally colliding with me. The eggs broke, most landing on me. I looked up at her, grimacing.
She laughed nervously, "Sorry?"
"Oh, I forgive you." I smiled, deviously. "At least I will after I do this."
She watched me pick up a bag of flour, as I stuck my hand into it. "Nick, Nick, no." She backed away from me. "Put. That. Down. Now."
But it was too late, I threw the handful of flour right in her face, and she gasped.
She ran over to the batter, digging her hands into the slimy concoction and splattered some on me.
And a fight erupted. Flour, batter, eggs, and icing for the cake flung around the whole kitchen. We both fell to the ground, laughing. "It looks like a Cake threw up in here," She laughed.
Selena swiped some icing from the container, licking her finger.
She laughed, "You got a little something on your face,"
I rolled my eyes, "Really?" I pointed to my whole body, which was covered in food.
She reached over to get a napkin, gently wiping the food off my face. "There." she said, satisfied. She smiled, looking at me.

"Why did you have to leave me and go to Texas?" I whispered suddenly, almost in inaudibly.
"But I'm here now," She whispered. "I-I missed you."
I sat there, silent. I didn't need to say anything to acknowledge the connection between us at that moment.
I caressed her cheek with my thumb.

And she didn't even look like she had to contemplate in her mind about what she would do next.
