Journalist Barry M talks exclusively for the first time on camera about his experiences of being a gay member of a number of Christian Pentecostal churches.

In part one of the interview he explains how his mother's death when he was 15 spurred him on to get involved with the church and Christian youth groups in Australia and in Europe.

He also talks about how he used religion as an escape from his sexuality and as a means to deny it.

During this time he encountered charismatic church leaders who had a huge influence on his life and on his way of thinking.

  • @goinghard101 Even the scientific community is still not set on this so I wouldn't lean too heavily on that.

  • @YayShadow Perhaps you should stop tacking labels like "gay" on yourself. That's a label from the world. Let God define you as his beloved child who just happens to be dealing with this temptation. Changing what I call myself really contributes to my continuing transformation.God loves you no matter what, don't focus too much on the problem. He said we all deal with no problem that is uncommon to man. We take off the old man like a garment and put on Christ.

  • Hi, YayShadow. Actions stem frm desires in our hearts. Having temptation doesn't condemn, you, it's how you deal with it. If you keep feeding it, it'll conflict with the God relationship. Jesus said you can't serve 2 masters. You will become tormented and double-minded or love one and hate the other. You keep feeding the desires instead of dying to them and focusing of Jesus and you'll fan a flame and put yourself in torment of unfulfilled desires.Romans 8 helps me a lot

  • @oricalco He answered in the positive (Matthew 19:3-6) saying that the only context for marriage is when a man and woman leave their parents and become one flesh. By default, that rules out same-sex romance. When we are born again, we have to take off the old man and die to sin. All of it and nothing is impossible or too hard for God. He is greater than our sexuality and we need to stop focusing too much on the problem and focus on Jesus. That is when transformation comes in the spirit.

  • @ritzbot89 Well, read carefully. Jesus came to bring not love, but Salvation. More than that, He even once said that He brought fight, not peace. ANd let me tell you something. HE brought love to people, but it doesn't mean He brought love to sin. OTherwise, He contadicted Himself. And stop quoting Scriptures using only one side of God's character. THe Bible also says that God is a consuming fire.

  • didnt jesus say the two greatest commandments are love jesus with all your soul, heart, strength and love your neighbor as yourself. matt 22 36:39. so i honestly dont believe a person will go to hell for being gay and jesus came to spread love not hate, and he will be the judge of that, not u guys which see a bit a dirt in ur brothers eye and dont see the piece of wood which is in your eye

  • This is really stupid. Gay and Christian are polar opposites.

  • @OpenEye73

Read Jesus' statements about divorces and let all these christians repent and abandon their wives and live till death alone, with Jesus of course.

  • I am a gay atheist but I always though gay christian was an oxymoron wasnt it?

Like it literally says in Leviticus that you should stone gays to death, so does the koran

  • Brain Chemical control heterosexuality than, cant they control homosexuality?
