defo going to try the pole, what size elastic would you recommend for 20lb carp. on my stretch its really snaggy.

i use a size 20 elastic but make sure the pole you use is rated to a 20 elastic.

in the early days on the canal i was using a size 12? and i had no trouble. but the size 20 is recommended.

@OdoProductions I dont no about retford i havent been up or fished around there, there must be sum carp up there sumwere its just locating them! I sumtimes go up shireoakes and catch chub off the top using bread there are plenty of fish up there, I am yet to see any carp tho.

@OdoProductions That aint true fella! Chesterfield canal is good you just after fish it in the right place! try it in worksop town center were the multistory car park is ive seen carp there and i am told carp up to 29lb have been caught there!
