In a weird way, this is one of the saddest songs on the whole album. It upsets me that at a relatively young age, I sometimes wish that things were the way they used to be. As much as I look forward to my future, I can't help but feel as though I want to go back to the days when life was a lot simpler.

When I was working on this song it was originally about taking Hip Hop back to how it used to be, but Jon Phonics mentioned that I was coming across as sounding bitter about it. So I expanded the theme to cover my childhood memories and instead of just name dropping, I set out to include some old school references and weave them into a cohesive story.

This joint is strictly for the twenty five and above crew - the younger heads are not ready!

  • No papa shango, smh lmao! wicked vid!

  • @mcbeannie You know what's funny? So many people asked where was Papa Shango in my video! That guy was scary! Seriously scary! I remember when he made The Ultimate Warrior throw up in the ring. Too graphic! I couldn't put him in this video because it would bring back some bad memories for me! Glad you liked the video though! Thanks for watching!

  • how can you not mention tupac?

  • @moman3r33 What's up man? First of all, thanks for watching the video. I didn't mention Tupac because to be completely honest with you, I didn't listen to his music when I was coming up. I listened mainly to East Coast artists like B.I.G., Wu-Tang, Nas, KRS-ONE and a few others. I didn't just want to mention names for no reason, I wanted to mention people who had a direct influence on me growing up and unfortunately Tupac wasn't one of them. I definitely respect his legacy regardless.
