Gable later sold this car to Douglas Shearer the brother of actress Norma Shearer in 1942 when Carole Lombard died. It was her favorite of his cars and he could not bear to look at it again.
If only American luxury cars were still that good. Cadillac is hardly comperable to rolls royce. Duesenburg was better than any other luxury make in the world (except maybe maybach).

yep, Maybach made zeppelin engines in the 1930's. They were founded in 1909, but went out of business in 1940 before they were revived in 1997.
