WUB. I am not a dancer. And those goggles are not comfortable. But here's some dubstep I made just to see if I could, and a goofy video to go with it. The music was made with Jeskola Buzz, which is aging freeware (I've been using it since I was twelve) and not made for dubstep, so that was part of the challenge. This was as much an experiment to bend the limits of the software as an experiment to see what I'm capable of. Which is kind of the whole point of Mozart von Robot as well. It's my excuse to experiment with different sounds without feeling like I have to come up with something to rap about.

  • My phone started to interfere with the speakers and at first I thought it was part of the song. It sounded pretty good...

  • @MassivePandaMusic Damn, I should've thought of that;)

  • ugh... every man but a white man can dance... fml

  • @blackopscrazyman Um...I'm sorry for ruining your life with my half-assed, less-than-serious attempt at flailing like an idiot?

  • @songstowearpantsto Ah, that makes sense. I live in the outskirts of nowhere (outside a small town outside a small city in Sweden), so there's no workshop in sight. Or anything, really. What I quite like about Maschine is you don't need a workshop to get started, nor years of experimenting like with Buzz, just a trip to the NI Youtube channel. Akai are revamping MPC into a similar software/controller combo though, and NI might put out Maschine 2 to compete, so it might be wise to wait and see.

  • @Swenglish i may need to get maschine. i love pretty much all NI stuff.

i didn't understand ableton at all until i went to a workshop for it. now it has become my way of life. :)

  • @songstowearpantsto I've been subscribed to your channel for some time, impressed by your versatility, prolificness and musical/lyrical skills.

I never could quite get away from Buzz, I just know it too well to give it up. Tried Ableton once, failed to figure out even how to get started, so I never bought it. I do go back and forth between Buzz and Maschine these days though. Different strengths.

Thanks:) You keep it up too!

  • @Swenglish Thanks for checking out mine! Yeah I used to really love Buzz around 10 years ago, though I've long since settled on Ableton. Still have some experimental electronic pieces from my Buzz days that I wanna get out there some day... :)

Great work on your audio and your video, keep it up!

  • @songstowearpantsto Thanks:) And wow, I had no idea you were a fellow Buzz user, been using it for a bit over 12 years myself (among other things). I like your work, thanks for checking out mine^^

  • love it! and as a jeskola alumnus i'm super impressed.
