  • We all have our share of sad times in life though few on the scale of this man. To accept these things with such faith is a measure of the man. I myself lost both parents within 38 days of each other and felt that I just wanted to die and be with them. However, I looked to the Lord for comfort and guidance and he gave me both in plenty and helped me through my own personal tragedy. If any non-believers are reading this, I implore you to turn to Jesus for help at all times; he WILL help you.

  • I was looking for a song and I found this amazing hymn, I am not Christian but I cannot describe what I felt in my soul after I saw the story behind this lyrics. We have to give thanks to the Holy One at any time!

  • Faith few can express it and fewer I fear have it.

  • He is the God of the afflicted. Thankyou Father that you picked me from nothingness to Spiritual Greatness

  • @AIRDRIE2007 I'm an atheist, and since I'm an atheist... nah. However, I am happy that people who have such awful tragedies happen to them can pick up their lives in this way...

  • I just recently learned the real story when a dear Saint of God past away. It blew my heart away.

  • that beat needs to go

  • To learn more about the Spaffords, read "American Priestess: The Extraordinary Story of Anna Spafford and the American Colony in Jerusalem". My grandparents (Rev. and Mrs. Edward Baldwin) served the Lord with the Spaffords there.

  • Thank you for this!

May the peace of God be with you forever!

    Sara
