  • Great video, i am going to try this at Shatterford at the end of may, i've heard zig rigs are great for carp there. Thanks for advice!!

  • Hi Mate,

Please make sure the rig is safe when you tie it.

Connect the stiff section to your main line by using a double grinner knot. This is small enough to allow the bubble float to slide over the knot in the event of main line breakage. You can stop the float flying over the knot when in use by sliding a rubber sleeve onto the knot. The rubber will then only move when under slight pressure.

    Good luck!

  • thr band in quite a few lakes i can see why good video tho think its incase of foul hooking or break off thr wd be a float stuck on th line

  • Yes, I agree, the safety of the rig may look suspicious but I use a much smaller swivel that passes through the bore of the bubble float. I place a rubber sleeve over the smaller swivel so it temporarily stops the float passing through during use, but will push through under pressure. The float can then come free from the mainline.

I also, use much thinner line on the hooklink end, this mainly breaks first without the float, and the thinner line has less visibility.

  • first time iv'e seen this rig

but whem can it be used

just for summer time or all year round

  • You can use a Zig Rig whenever the carp are mid-water.

  • Good rig mate, well explained.. only thing i would'nt do is use florocarbon line as your

hooklink... it sinks! double strenth is good for zigs.

  • not a zig rig

  • @Brat4PrimeMinister Haha i know mate i've only got freeview and he's on Quest with his 1990's fishing tactics.....they got these new things on there called bite alarms???

  • @stevo71109 matt who ???

  • Very clear and video.

    Well done.

  • You are more informative than Matt Hayes.......

  • So how can you alter the depth if the lead is fixed? How does the line run through it?

  • Thanks for the video,

Does the bubble float lift off the floor or just act as an adjuster like shown?

  • Nice vid, well presented (better than I could do)! lol. Ther are a couple of adjustments easily made to improve both the safety and mechanics of your set up. If I can work out how to use my lads video thingy I will post a video reply.Keep up the good work.

  • i think i might adapt this for pike fishing
