Nico Muhly (Born 1981 in Vermont) is a contemporary Western classical music composer[1], who has worked and recorded with classical and pop/rock musicians. He currently lives in the Chinatown section of Manhattan in New York City.
Muhly was born in Vermont and raised in Providence, Rhode Island. His mother is a painter and teacher at Wellesley College and his father is a documentary filmmaker.[2]

As a child, Muhly sang in the choir at an Episcopalian Church in Providence[3], and he started to study piano at 10[2].

Muhly went on to study at Columbia University where he got his undergraduate degree in English and at The Juilliard School where he graduated with his Master's degree in Music. He had studied composition with John Corigliano and Christopher Rouse.

  • @superdogmeatmeat , movie 's fuckin' masterpiece!

  • absolutely magnificent..

  • @alisunchyme

Touchè on the insult, however, I just can't bare people that can't get over their 'broken heart'. That's why I didn't like the movie, I was 'forced' to watch it for German to get a bonus on my test.

  • This film was one of the most beautiful i have ever watched. Needless to say how amazing i think these soundtracks are. This music is such a powerful and soulful masterpiece.

  • superdogmeatmeat you can not be serious this film was outstanding. The acting was sublime along with this fantastic musical score. I suggest you take the dog meat out of your eyes and watch it again....

  • I would have felt intimidated if I was David Kross, he worked with a Titanic survivor and Who-must-not-be-named...but seriously, what a privilige to work with amazing actors like Kate and Ralph

  • Movie sucked, this soundtrack, good.

  • i cried so many times while watching this movie

  • A song has lyrics! I hear no Lyrics here. :) And i highly doubt people are going to have the full Orchestral score to a piece like this.

  • This music score fits the fim beautifully and really adds to the emotion and atmosphere of the fim. Outstanding in everyway The reader is one of the best films i have ever seen and it was so different to have a lead character who isnt perfect.
