  • Thanks for posting this. I couldn't be there but many of my siblings from Local 58 where there. I went last Saturday to Columbus for the We Are Ohio event. I'd say there were 5,000 total. Lansing looks well attended by the Trades. In Ohio the Trades are mostly invisible. Somethings broken down in the Building Trades and the AFL-CIO in Ohio.

  • @edsdet

AFSCME, Postal Workers, and Teachers Union also had a large showing. I was hoping to see more trades present, but I guess that painters, tapers, board hangers, flooring guys, and a few others that weren't there aren't affiliated with the AFL/CIO. Lots of electricians, boilermakers, laborers, fitters, plumbers, and roofers were there. I think that the Laborers were the most organized. In some pictures from above, you can see all the orange shirts that the Laborers were wearing.

  • Todd Palin earned $102,716 in 2006,as a union member). Palin family has long enjoyed the benefits of union membership.Sara urged members to break away from their union. Union members must sacrifice Palin wrote. Hypocrisy tries to have it both ways. . And then, at the same time, she embraces the extreme far-right policies of GOP: a party that has a hatred of unions and seeks to abolish. Sara who has made a fortune since she quit as governor. In 9 months after she quit, made $12 million.

  • I was there and people were riled up......it was a good show of solidarity....needed to happen!!!
