Title: 魔法少女達の百年祭 ~ Magical Trio
Artist: M8
Circle: 神像彫刻家
Album: 神像黒歴史 ~ the Black Chronicle ~
Original: 魔法少女達の百年祭 (The Centennial Festival for Magical Girls)
Their website: http://shinzo.wor.jp/

First of all, you can read a story 85centimeters wrote for us, from this song here:

http://thepoltergeistmansion.wordpress.com/2009/12/06/once-in-a-hundred-years/

Greetings once again, continuing with this piano compilation I present to you an arrange of one of ZUN's most hilariously forgotten themes, also because this was requested by dragonslayerEMP.

Why hilariously? Isn't it obvious? I mean, take a look at how much attention U.N. Owen gets, I highly believe it's the Touhou theme with most arranges in the world, but then we take a look at Flandre's stage theme and... you find one arrange in a million.

M8 deserves a place in this compilation, for those who don't know who he is, he's the pianist in that insane Shinki arrange (number 68) and that one in a million Waltz of Misery arrange. You know, it's a pity this guy doesn't do more of this kind of stuff, since he's an excellent pianist and arranger (good keyboardist too). If you lurk around their website and listen to some of their crossfades and sample songs you'll see that they don't focus on classical music only, they tend to do some other stuff (especially M8's friend, SS, who does mostly synth metal), that I don't quite find that awesome. Actually I wanted to put up ARA's epic arrange, choruses included and all... but that's too epic for a piano compilation, maybe some other time?

This song has a big Chinese vibe, no seriously, give the original a listen I think the main part screams "little Chinatown".

"Sometimes it's Chinese, sometimes it's New Age. Why?
This is what happens after messing with my keyboard.
It's like an accumulation of my laziness. If you listen
closely, there are many strange rhythms in this song.
In other words, my toy-box."
-ZUN, EoSD music room, translated by Toho Wiki

ZUN's experimental song done while messing around with his keyboards, lol that's hilarious.

"Sir Dracula, the princesses are arriving. The caravan is nearly here."

Thanks for watching.

  • This theme does have a really chinese vibe. In fact there's an arrange- 4LENYM6WbwY Extremely Chinese...

Anyways this song has always been eerie in a way. It's like walking through a forgotten hall, a hall that hasn't been walked through by anyone for hundreds of years. Or walking through a playroom, void of anything but broken toys... Abandoned, but the memories of the past continue to linger regardless.

  • I personally consider The Centennial Festival a favorite of mine. It's actually quite an interesting piece, beautiful even. It's quite unfortunate that it doesn't receive a lot of attention, though. This is a very nice, arrange, though. Really touching.

  • This is good.

  • The illustration is by crowdesu.

Try looking on a booru or konachan.

  • @Operative13 It's remilia and flandre scarlet. :P

  • ...The illustration is much more different than the average pictures you get off of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. It's much more regal and Victorian-like. Probably because the whole image is mostly black, and the coach that (Somehow) Meling is driving.

The thing I just don't get is, how on earth did Remilia get her hands on a bunch of Unicorns?

...Um... I know this isn't really music-related, but the picture just caught my eye.

It seemed interesting to comment about.

  • THAT PICTURE D:! Links please?

  • @Operative13 Flandre and Remilia Scarlet.

    Also, MOTHER EFFING UNICORNS.

  • I can't make out who are those two in the carriage... *cries eyes out while squinting for a better look* T.T

  • i nearly cried when i read the story with the music. it was absolutely beautiful ;_;

  • Hey kakashi, I love m8 all themes are so gorgeous and beautiful but unluckily I can't find the waltz of misery got deleted or something, can you reupload it or provide me with a link? I can't find it anywhere :(

  • Well ZUN only uses MIDI instruments...if he used samples on MORRIGAN's level...just imagine
