Correcting Foot Deformity in Day Old Chick

This old English bantam chick had curled toes at one day old and was walking on its knuckles. This can be caused by genetics or problems in incubation. At first I taped its feet to thin cardboard for a day and that helped it walk more normally but its feet were still not right. Now I have made shoes using pipe cleaners and tape to see if I can improve the feet. It may also need to be hobbled to bring its legs in closer. It gets around well now and doesn't seem to mind the pipe cleaner shoes nearly as much as the cardboard shoes. The chick is one week old now but it is still very hard to tape anything to the feet of a chick this tiny. I think we should name this one Tiny Tim.
