This is one of my favourite JRPGs by far, but, while it is well known in Japan, it seems to be almost unheard of in its English and American releases, so I thought I might as well shed some light on this brilliant game.

Some things I forgot to mention:
The Cutscenes are usually using barely animated, but rather detailed, anime style figures of the characters, though some of the more pivotal cutscenes also have the in-game sprites as well.
Also movement around most of the game (the only exclusions to this rule being the occasional dungeon or 'quest' area) is done via a map screen, and there is always a set amount of standard battles you must take part in order to progress. Once these battles are concluded you can continue along the path unimpeded, however if you want to you can re-do the battles to farm experience points and gold.

  • find this game online, thats how I found one of my fav games, hyperdimension neptunia

  • I'm getting sick of seeing statements like this, "This looks like a PS1 game. They are not every trying." A true RPG fan those of us who grew up playing RPGs not this cookie cutter FPS crap don't give a damn about graphics. RPGs are about the game play and story, NOT Cinema graphics which is what Modern RPGs are becoming. The term RPG has become jaded, but what we now call JRPG is actually a traditional RPG. Fall Out is labeled RPG, but its actual Action Adventure to us old school people.

  • the next game comes next month (at least here in the states)

  • This looks like a PS1 game. They are not every trying.

  • @Tragar1 dam no pc version still? bummer.

  • hahahah jumbo cock.......insanity.l

  • There is no North American PS3 version. Not on disc at least. For some reason, it's downloadable.

  • An Xbox 360 version is being released in the US on the 27th of April; it's also being re-release for PS3 on PSN. I wonder if it will be the Re-appearance JP 360 version that has extra features and improved graphics or the original.

  • Ah i remeber this game from a demo I played, but I forgot to buy it when when it was released over here. Thanks for reminding me.

Also if you do like stratagy games like this, my i suggest you take a look at the Disgaea, mainly the latest one called Absence of Justice since it has a better special attack combonation system then the earler titles. Another game you may possible enjoy would be Valkyria Chronicles, although that is a very different form of stratagy, i believe you could like it.

  • "It's PS3 exclusive by the way." That made me sad. It looks fun. :(
