"(be) used to" is a verb phrase for situations or activities that you do regularly. You may or may not like the thing that you do. It's part of your life. This is used for the present tense.

  • That's different. Without the verb "be," the meaning changes to something that you did in the past. The examples presented in the video here can be used in the present or the past to describe something that is a routine part of your life.

    Consider these sentences:

    I'm used to traveling.

    I'm used to it.

    I'm used to my new boss.

    I'm used to her.

    In both of these sentences, the object pronouns ("it" and "her") following "used to" replace a noun.
