part of the fun of mtbing is bombing sections and clearing gaps/doing bit hits, since none of these things are even remotely possible on a uni i dont see much fun in it.
going downhill seems like more of a puzzle than fun to me...not saying it doesnt take skill, seems pretty tough.

Hi Heath. Well, I use an Intense 24x3, but unfortunately they are disconitnued. The Duro is actually pretty close in design, and has a good firm sidewall.

Terry what tyre are you going to replace the DH with? I have a Gazza 3" but is going to need replacing pretty soon, was told that the Dura 3"(as fitted to new KH) is pretty nasty.. Whats you opinion on tyres..
all the best

I should mention though, that I routinely PASS even the most hardcore, experienced mtber on UPhill climbs! While they are in the lowest gears, I'm blowing right past them!
That's also what makes MUni (Mountain uni) so rewarding; it gets you in the best shape of your life! I'm almost 54, and hgave lost 25 pounds of fat, and my waist has dropped from 34 to a 29! It's my fountain of youth!

Because it's the greatest workout, it's unique and FUN! I know several mtbers who have even converted to mountain unis and haven't gone back to 2 wheels.
It does take heightened levels of balance, stamina, strength and focus, and there are no gears to help you climb, and you can't take the easy way out and coast at any time, especially down hills.
It's the ultimate in fun, adventure and just plain awesome! But unless you experience it for yourself, you'll never know.
