a few years ago i had a gerbil named coffee and she fell from the high end of my couch and i heard a huge slap then i came over and she crawls up onto my lap too afraid to explore the new world lol :)

my gerbil escaped just a few mins. ago and im like mommas got you mommas got you and he looked soooooooo scared and cralled up by me and i set a toob down and he cralled into sat still in it and i ptu it in his cage

Some gerbils are more timid then others. You need to be patient. Put a sunflower seed on your hand and hold it still. Let the gerbil get the treat. This way it gets used to your hands and wont be afraid, but it might take some time.
