Tremolo is a very simple amplitude modulation effect, and no-one would be able to tell the diff between an analog pedal from a digital one making this effect.
There are three tremolo variables: depth, speed, and waveform shape (triangle, square, sine, saw, etc.)
There are times when the analog vs. digital argument has merit; this is not one of them. Sorry, stereodimension. 8^) For chorus, delay, reverb, etc, I might entertain your argument, but tremolo is outside of that box.
@44eelz There are digital effects that sound really good, however they can't come close to analog ones. Maybe that's is why today's music is pure garbage, there are not songs that endure the pass of time.
Well, not really. All digital fx convert the signal into digital data, no mater if they are in "virtual by-pass". They tend to sound like a synthy instrument, just like playing the trumpet on a keyboard. Digital converters are much better nowadays, however, the way they manipulate sound they cannot achieve the depth of analog sound, no matter how they improve. Personally I prefer analog effects. Now people are used to digital music because they have grown with it.

@stereodimension so in a way an analog tremolo comes closer to sounding like someone turning ur volume knob on/off while ur playing?

@stereodimension interesting

@ibanezgeorge ... but how could u tell the difference between digital and analog trems if they both just modulate the volume?

i have this pedal, it's really simple but i think it sounds great. Most importantly you don't get that crappy digital sound.
