@webmastereyedoll actually the reason i posted that was because microsoft shut down digital anvil in the middle of the production of freelancer 2 and it was cancelled. apperently they shut down digital anvil cuz digital anvil ran out of money and when they asked microsoft for money to continue their project microsoft said go f*** yourself essentially.

@MrPerson61 The TNG mod, as shown on this video is available from my site as shown in the information section. I'm not sure what system will FL2 be coming out for. I'm sure you can Google it.

also, can someone give me a link or something to a mod that lets you use battleships in vanilla freelancer? or at least cruisers? thanks.

@tarantulakid1 It's not hard. According to DonkeyOMFG, to play online freelancer:
download,instal hamachi,enter hamachi click join and enter the servername, start the game and go to the internet or lan to connect to a server.
Another way is by navigating to the directory:
/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Freelancer/EXE/
then typing the commad:
Freelancer.exe -sfreelancer.myip.org
That should connect you to my server. You should make sure you have the TNG mod installed before connecting.

@tarantulakid1 I'm sure you can play the normal (UnModded) game online if you find someone hosting it. Unless you have another computer to host a server on and can setup your router properly.
