in cambodia b4 apr 1975, there never was an issue of the ethnicity of samouth or of kung som oeun or whoever. every1 knew that samouth was mixed with laotian. but that was no issue. no1 ever raised that question. every1 knew that most cambodians were mixed-raced. every1 knew that the mixed-raced were patriotic.

only now that there are some people who make samouth's ethnicity in2 an issue. these people are backward un-educated putz who never lived in cambodia.

I agree there is a Thai version sang by Sin Sisamouth and Sothea. :) . I do not blame Thai .. but one think in my mind is Thai people used to be Khmer People. Just has been educated by Tai from China.. and long long time... those people especially new generation will not recognize themselves where they from... :D

who blames the thai people?? & 4 what?? the reality is that cambodian legendary grand master samouth sang this song with cambodian legendary movie actress dy saveth in both the khmer language (official language of cambodia) in 1 version & the thai language in another (meanin' the khmer version is entirely in khmer, the thai version is entirely in thai, no mixing of the 2 languages in any 1 version). so, blamin' the thai people 4 what??

thanx. as 4 his songs bringin' every1 together, i wish you're rite. however i must be realistic. on youtuve i've seen people, altho very very few, who aint admire his ultimate talent at all but claim that he aint "khmer" or "pure khmer" or say somethin' that implies so.
