  • @Dogleg987 Same. I still have this on VHS somewhere, but don't have a player to watch it on! This performance is what got me into CH, at the age of 15. I remember raving about it in a letter to a girl I was chasing at the time, heheh! I bought Together Alone on the back of it, and like @kirkwallboy I found it a little lacking compared to this amazing version.

  • Great performance....pity the video is not the best quality. I wonder does this appear on any of the Later with Jools DVDs.

  • Saw them last night in Portland OR at the Edgefield, outdoors under the stars and the moon. They have to be seen to be believed. So much better live even than in the studio. Incredible musicians. Great show.

  • @Dogleg987 Your comments match mine in a life affirming way. Someone else out there got caught up in this too. After watching it at the time, I got the album, and found the original a bit subdued. Grew to love it, in its own way, but to me this is the performance that brings the song to life

  • I remember seeing this at the time and I have raved about it to people for years. Without doubt, one of the best performances of this song EVER. Hats off to the sound guys at the beeb who got it spot on. When the drummers kick in it just goes to another level.

If I'd known it was here I'd have watched it before now. Excellent stuff

  • Brilliant performance of a landmark song from one of the Great Albums of the rock era. Mark is a master of the slide. Transcendent.

  • i'm probably one of their youngest fans, but their music has always spoken to me, even when i was a child. this is one of my all time favorites!

can't wait to see them in august!

  • This is epically trippy and I love the fact they got the percussion in on this on.

  • this is really an epic performance, very warm sounding like the album version.Neil just rules the planet

  • FANTABULIFIC to the millionth degree!!!! I LOVED this! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
