Carried Out Of The Senate Gallery For Nothing

7-1-11 All charges were dropped against me.

I walk into the Senate gallery with a piece of paper stapled to my shirt that said "FREE SPEECH". I am stopped before going in by a police officer, he asks the Senate page if I am allowed to go in with it on and he says it is fine. Then I sit for a while listening when one of the Senators says something I really agree with and I wiggled my fingers just a little bit and very close to my body. The Senate page comes over and tells me I can't do that because it is "Def for clapping". I stop doing it and then a few minutes later a different Senator says something that really moves me so I bounce my shoulders a little bit. The page comes back and tells me I have to leave. They were about the vote on a bill which would essentially take away my access to voting so I wasn't just going to leave. Then the police come and tell me I have to leave, I ask what rule I broke, obviously they can't tell me but they are fine picking me up and carrying me out of the Senate.

I was charged with Disorderly Conduct and it carries a fine of $263.50

The police woman who issued my ticket was unable to tell me what it was that was against the rules.
