I hope Nokia will be improving the homescreen on the Nokia 5800. It's a great phone with a few problems, one of them being the crappy homescreen :)

the sad thing is that the end customer who buys these phones with there hardly earned money not get satisfied when u look around the competitors!!!!

i've been using nokia phones since the very beginning and it seems that the latter releases "beta" products and upgrades it relative to what is on the market....

i don`t understand why nokia team delays the 5800XM homescreen update. is it so hard to do it like the N97?

i think they are greedy and want to sell more n97's

By the way, when did you stopped calling it "Active stand by" ?

I HAVE downloaded one theme with icons - soft black by PI Zero - which is pretty good but not perfect.

But there really isn't any excuse for the ugly icons that ship with the device. Or the ugly fonts. Or the ugly windows.

Ugliness does not make the device run faster. It just makes it harder to look at and me to want to dump my E71.

Yeah its really STUPID of Nokia to NOT have enabled this on the N97 in the first place because THEY HAD the feedback data THEN when designing it!!!! Now 5800 should get a more powerful & interactive homescreen layout like the 5630XM.

You realize that is part of the reason WHY the E71 (S60 3.1) is THE fastest device running that system EVEN with heavy application load. You can also choose different Themes you know; and link applications to show data on the home screen Active Stanby. You're just not utilizing the power of it. E72-2 just got FCC approval E71 upgrade. sweet.
