David Letterman used to have a morning show. On July 3, 1980, Steve Muskie appeared on the program. He was the son of then Secretary of State Edmund S. Muskie (former senator from Maine and vice presidential nominee in 1968). Steve appeared on the show in order to promote an article about his father in Life Magazine.

  • this man is dull

  • Wow, I love it ... "This man is dull." How true. Isn't it amazing that he had a ten minute interview on Letterman's show, despite his dullness. As of today 231 people have watched this video, or some portion of it. I wonder how many of them got past the first 30 seconds of it before tuning out. I put this online for my kids and friends to watch and never imagined that anyone else would have an interest in it, but I didn't realize the magnetism that David Letterman has!

  • dull uncle, eh?

  • Ed Muskie was a man of RARE dignity and integrity, and we desperately need more like him. Even the very jaded Letterman seems to have quite respected him- thats as telling as any fact.

  • this guys my uncle :]

  • Edmund Muskie was the leading Democratic candidate for president in 1972. His campaign was derailed by the "Canuck Letter" and by eventual nominee George McGovern's stronger anti-war stance.
