Great interview with Steve.
I worked with Kairos in Colorado for five years with Steve, Dick, Tom G and others.
The benefits to the residents are both concrete and indescribable.
The benefits to the teams are larger than any expectations.
I'm now working with teams that do weekend at Angola, LA State Penitentiary.

Sorry it took so long to answer your comment; I was traveling. The best approach is to be authentic in these situations, I believe. The least trace of pride, condescension, manipulation or seeking of acceptance will be detected in an instant, and will detract from your ability to carry the message you hope to bring to the juveniles, or, in my work, to inmates.
