Chicago Elderly Kills Intruder With Handgun : Video by Fox News

An 80 year old Korean War Vet, shot and killed an armed intruder. This video, courtesy of Fox News, best demonstrates why Chicago's handgun ban hurts its law abiding citizens. The intruder, who was armed, took 2 shots at the elderly man before he was killed.

The homeowner who save his family from the intruder is protected by the "Hale DeMar law" which essentially nullifies any ordinance against gun ownership should a firearm be used in self defense.

Chicago mayor Richard "Dick" Daley says that guns are still not the answer.

A drug suspect fleeing Chicago police chose the wrong home to break into Thursday (6/3/10) on the West Side. A resident inside with a handgun wounded the intruder, authorities said.

While the wounded suspect was hospitalized and later charged, police declined to seek criminal charges against the 27-year-old South Austin resident with the gun, despite the city's decades-old handgun ban.

Takes police 5 to 15 minutes MINIMUM for police to arrive AFTER call! Police do excellent job, but law abiding citizens have every right to defend home/family. Can you imagine anything worse than seeing unknown armed intruder in own home,helpless?!Chicago handgun ban is RIDICULOUS!Criminals who break law obtain guns illegally so can't be traced back to them,hinders law abiding citizens!Attacker SHOULD have to worry if family/home can defend themselves!Chicago bans less powerful handgun? idiotic!
