How to adjust fuel rate (turn up the pump)on the popular Med Duty diesels. Roughly covers 84-92s. More info on my site, the Low Buck Diesel Power how-to site. The link is in my profile

  • Will this make the fuel economy worse? Im getting 8mpg now and would like to keep it in that area but it would also be nice to get up the hills too.

  • @TheDirtytexan

8mpg isnt that bad. Gearing and timing are key. The fuel rate will certainly make it more pleasureable to drive, and go up hills better, just watch the exhaust temp. Hike your timing up to around 19* after you do the fuel.

  • @nevrenufhp 8mpg is horrible rofl

  • @weedissafer

It could be worse. I drive a DT466E that gets 4.4 mpg. A few of the other trucks get 5-6.

  • @nevrenufhp uhm i think your mistaken i've never herd of a diesel engine in my entire life getting mileage that bad.

  • @weedissafer

You must not have been around many big rigs. Most of those get under 8mpg.

  • @nevrenufhp we own a f-750 with a c7 cat in it and we've hauled 50 thousand pounds and got over 8mpg the other day we had it the trailer basically loaded with a brick wall and a huge truck pulling thru the wind for about 500 miles to an back and we barely burned a quarter tank

  • Great instructional vid. Makes it easy to understand.

  • Cool. I have a Ford with the 6.6 and I have been wondering how to turn it up. I will have to try it now.

  • @GuateChecho

Running an intercooler or aftercooler is a good thing! For sure run one.
