This is the best explantion of Reiyukai philosophy and practice I have ever seen on the internet, second only to my years of face to face interaction with Reiyukai. This is a great video about the hay-day of Reiyukai in the 70s. Video a tad faded from time, but the philosophy is still the same wonderful inclusiveness, a gem amongst the Nichiren Schools.

I have appreciation toward the Reiyukai Kyodan, for it is an "ancestor" of the Buddhist sect I follow, Risshō Kōsei Kai. It has many common themes with Kōsei Kai practice: wearing of the tasuki (sash), reading of the THREEFOLD Lotus Sutra, reciting sutra excerpts from a kyoten, inter-religious dialogue for peace, etc.

@krishnaniapoland Kapilvastu and surrounding areas, in 500 BC, belonged to several janapadas (kindoms) of India, in which the Buddha was of Śākya descent; Nepal was not yet a sovereign nation (gained independence in 1768 CE).

Please correct the mistake in this speech....... Lord Gautam Buddha was born in the Shakya clan of Kapilvastu which is situated in Nepal, not in India.
