@Skyluna07 I see your point. The love me or I'll kill you attitude doesn't ever go over very well in any relationship. I just hate that line about his gun and puttin' her in the ground. It ruins an otherwise great song for me and stifles any empathy I would have for the paralyzed guy.

@mikastu Your right I saw a interview with Kenny Rogers just a few years back and he said the 60's and 70's and Early 80's he did have issues with Pills and/or Drinking like so many did and as we know still do (M. Jackson/ Whitney Houston).

@Skyluna07 But you know the song is about his wife going to town and being with other men while her husband is paralyzed from fighting in Vietnam (Crazy Asian War) and does not have many years to live anyhow (it wont be long I heard them say until I'm not around). Maybe, it is a drastic move, though his Emotions are tossed about every time she goes out to "Take Her Love to Town". Not saying it is right but you can see why he feels like that "I'd get my gun and put her in the ground".

I was thinking he looks like he's having sex...but I adore this song. He's a great artist. I love the girl in those 70"s white boots. Those are hot, and yeah I'm not gay. I just like retro. Very iconic song.
