This recording of the 1924 jazz band version of George Gershwin's beloved "Rhapsody in Blue" (orchestrated by Ferde Grofé) reveals many restored moments of Gershwin's original conception of the piece to include significant piano cadenzas (performed by AnnaMaria Mottola) that were all but lost during subsequent performances following the work's premiere. The parts were restored in a critical edition and conducted here by Peter Wilson, who provides this video as a conductor's reference with regard to style, tempos, and technique specific to conducting this original version of "Rhapsody in Blue."
