Firearms sold in CIP countries (Germany, France, Austria ...) must be individually proofed at a CIP prood house. Each member state hase one or multiple proof houses.
Proofing is done by shooting overpressure (+30%) proofing cartridges. Each gun is then inspected. If it passes the test,tamps are added on various parts (barrel, slide, bolt, frame ...) depending on the type of firearm. The "NP" mark for example certifies the firearm is safe for smokeless powder ammo ...

I have a ? If you can help I have a new glock17 and sometimes I get casing hitting me in my face luckily I wear safety glasses I mostly shoot 115 gr winchester I shoot it with a nice firm grip the electors is not broken the extract looks ok I just think a possible got a lemon forgot

I just picked up this same Austrian proofed pistol in a trade this morning. I did not notice it at the shop, but the front sight is steel. Did this pistol come with the same?
