VERY IMPORTANT!!! THERE'S SOMETHING YOU HAVE TO DOWNLOAD THAT IS NOT LISTED IN THE TUTORIAL!!! IT'S CALLED winmpq64 or 164, Or you could just download the original winmpq. Because that's a program that will read you MPQ archive onto the game disc, so anyone that's been experiencing the whole Starcraft has stopped working problem, download winmpq164 (or winmpq) extract the files, run the program once, and then you can play the game. (You will not need to leave the program open while playing the game.) If you still need help, click this link:

Hey man, I had this error message when dragging the modding folder to the MPQ compactor. What's with that problem?

@09108132819 it's a fairly low level program, so what operating system are you using? Also, when you download WinMPQ, I recommend you run the program at least once before using MPQ Compactor, so download WinMPQ and then run it, then try using the MPQ Compactor, it should work then. (I think the MPQCompactor has some dependencies on WinMPQ). If that doesn't work just pm me, I'll find a solution for you.

Just a question. Is it possible that I don't need to create a mod, and just edit the Star Craft I already have? Like what they did for Xtra Editor, where you have special heroes and units (e.g. Razagal or the Vespene Gas Tank)

@XAlphaZEROX Um, yes you can do that, just edit the Stardat.mpq file instead of creating your own.

@jakeneko You don't. With winrar...you extract the file(s) from the rar archive, and use the extracted file(s). All Winrar is, is a compression/archiving program. For information on how to create an MPQ file, watch the video.

okay so im having a problem with converting rar's into mpq with winrar...how do i do that?
