A candid video interview of a farmer describing the aftermath of an attack on his corn field by Lear's Macaws in the Bahia State of Brazil. The Lear's Macaw is a critically endangered parrot. It's habit of attacking indigent farmers' corn fields has created a problem, "death by farmer." The farmer's reaction and feelings are translated in the field by Dr. Yara Barros, PhD. Parrots International and its partners have created the Lear's Macaw Corn Subsidy to compensate the farmers 110% for their losses due to attacks by the Lear's Macaw, creating a win/win relationship and protecting the endangered Lear's Macaw from persecution.

  • Deforestation and demand for the palm oil, fruit and tree nuts/ wood lead to this. Poor ranchers need to make a living as well. Its a horrible problem. Possible solutions? use dogs, scarecrows, or a strong netting as a barricade would be my opinion.

  • the macaws run a very serious danger of get shot by farmers tryng to defend their crops!!!

  • haha thats funny he can't do anything about it! at least they get comped.

  • chillin and eating corn a regular day for the macaws..and he trips because birds steal from him..lol
