Motogiro d'Italia 2009

I dont think I will ever figure out Italy. She is a country that takes the time to be painstakingly paved in stone, yet she lives in the immediate to the point of impetuosity.

However, one does not need to understand her to be in love with her. And so it is that each of the past few years I have schemed and sacrificed to raise the cost of travel and participation in, what for me is, the ultimate in classic motorcycling romance, madness and endurance - the Motogiro d'Italia.

As now seems typical, there was no shortage this year of the illogical, frustratingly spontaneous and ridiculous. None of which comes close to mitigating the international camaraderie and magic that this event generates. Despite my share of breakdowns and navigation issues, I once more enjoyed myself beyond any measure but for that which this competition provides.
